Hotwire Hotel: 4* Toronto (Downtown West) Sheraton

I'm looking to book a hotel in Toronto for Aug 28-Sept 2 that I think is the Sheraton Centre Toronto.

It is a 4* in Downtown Toronto West with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business and recommended in 85% of reviews.

I'm booking for two people but I would like two double beds. What is the chance that I will get two beds and not one king bed? I know you can search for 3 or 4 people but then you have to pay extra person fees. There is a "bed choice" option but that is $99 a night instead of $79. Searching for 4 people removes this hotel from the list. Does that mean only king is available, even though you could select two doubles with the bed choice option?

If you search for 2adults/1child (or 2adults/2children) a 4* hotel in this zone appears with the amenities above at the same $79/nite rate... this would enable you to book for triple occupancy for the same price as you're seeing for 2adults/0children :) Note that booking for more than double occupancy usually means two beds, but it could be one bed plus a pullout sofabed, rollaway, etc.

This is my first time booking with HOTWIRE. I am looking to travel (to Toronto, if it matters) at the end of August. What is the best time to book hotel rooms? Do rates tend to go up as the date gets closer or go down? Do hotels "sell out" often?

In general, while waiting can result in better prices, prices can also go higher and if so, can go higher suddenly.

I've stayed three times at that hotel. They always asked me on check-in whether I want two doubles or one king.

(And yes, the 4* Downtown Toronto West with 85% is the Sheraton.)

I'd like to confirm that it was indeed the Sheraton. I booked for August 31-Sept 5 for $79 a night.

Sweet late Summer deal for this Sheraton property. If you do need two beds, I'd call ahead and ask if there is any chance you could have a request for two beds added to your reservation.
