k.r.y Posted May 28, 2010 Author Report Posted May 28, 2010 I responded to my NY thread. How do I bump this post?
thereuare Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I'm not currently seeing the property above when searching HOTWIRE for your date... are you still seeing this on your own search? If so, are you searching for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
k.r.y Posted June 2, 2010 Author Report Posted June 2, 2010 I've been trying to replicate that search as well, but I'm thinking that HOTWIRE removed it. I didn't put Monterey as my search city, but put in Salinas instead. That would be a good tip for anyone looking to book in the Monterey area - you get more re-bids in PRICELINE and more hotels seem to pop up in Hotwire.Anyways, I haven't had any luck with either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE for Monterey. As I'm not picky as to where to stay and as Monterey seems a little too far north, I will try bidding / searching in a different area instead. I'm driving up the coast from San Diego to San Francisco and need a place to stay overnight.

tobydsp Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Definitely the Holiday Inn Express in Seaside off Del Monte Blvd -- I just booked on Hotwire 6/14-6/15 for $68 and the same amenities.
k.r.y Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 I've been waiting for the Canadian dollar to go up to get a better exchange rate on my hotel purchase. It went up slightly today, so I checked this website before bidding and of course used the PRICELINE link.I saw how others were getting the Grand Hyatt, so I bid on USE 4*. Priceline is currently having a $5/day bonus cash promotion, so I started bidding at $74 (plus $5 =$79). I got rejected, but had an offer to increase by $15. I declined, used two re-bids and increased each bid by $1.Your Offer Price: $76.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $228.00 Taxes and Fees: $47.28 Total Charges*: $275.28 Very happy with my purchase. Thank you betterbidding and to everyone who has posted on this site!
yellowdog Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) Great to see that you're happy with the outcome.Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
