AaronJB Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 If you are trying to surprise someone with a trip, HOTWIRE may be a better option, as one can make an educated guess as to which hotels may be showing via that service whereas PRICELINE is more a roll of the dice. The list of HOTWIRE properties in Nevada that have been reported to the board can be found in this Hotwire Hotel List thread.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

fsworld Posted June 13, 2010 Author Report Posted June 13, 2010 I couldnt find this anywhere on the board but on PRICELINE if you do the "Name your own price" are the resort fees still added to that? What about the standard listings on PRICELINE?
Romelle Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 I couldnt find this anywhere on the board but on Priceline if you do the "Name your own price" are the resort fees still added to that? What about the standard listings on Priceline?Yes, "resort fees" are still added on - actually, paid at check-out. In both NYOP and the retail side of Priceline. You won't know what they are beforehand unless some kind person has already encountered them and posted the amount in a hotel review here. Sometimes also parking fees. Those mini-bar charges even though all you did was open that fridge, plus phone call charges when you never even touched the phone. You always can talk yourself out of the mini-bar and phone charges. Some people have talked themselves out of a parking add-on if they didn't bring a car. And a VERY few have even managed to talk themselves out of the resort charges with an argument that they never used those facilities. Don't count on being able to do that though.Beyond your bid amount, taxes and fees are added on. The total shows before you place your bid. And while there are no fees added on for the standard (retail) side, taxes are still added on there too.Romelle
