Hotwire Hotel: Hotwire Affiliated Hotels Times Square

My brother is coming over from England with his new bride and I wanted to book on Hotwire a 3 - 4* Hotel. I was thinking about the Crowne Plaza however, I just came across HOTWIRE.com and thought I might try it out. Before I do, I wonder what the actual Hotels are that you can get in the Times Square/ Broadway area if I did go with HOTWIRE. Does anyone know?

Keep in mind that only one hotel will show up at each star level in each area - the Crowne Plaza may not be showing for the particular set of dates you are looking for.

My first comment would be to give this thread a read concerning my/our thoughts on Hotels Near Times Square.

If you still want a Times Square property what i believe to be the Belvedere is avialable for $139/nite and gets good reviews.

A little South of Times Square is what i believe to be the historic and recently renovated Ramada Plaza New Yorker for $169/nite ($405 all-in with fees and taxes) and while we used advise to avoid this property, it gets good reviews since the renovation.

Thoughts on either of these?

Thanks I read the threads and it seems Times Square is super crowded and some people might not like that. Since it will be my brothers first time in NYC I think he will enjoy TImes Square. Now I want to know, where do most people suggest staying in NYC?

Do you mean which zone(s) do people recommend staying in OR which hotels within Times Square do people recommend?

As far as zones, most midtown zones work fine for the typical user, but at some star ratings there are certain 'known' properties which some may want to avoid (and therefore avoid the zone altogether)... if you mean which property do people recommend, we all have our favorites, but discussions usually don't go to deep down that path since when using PRICELINE and HOTWIRE we can't choose which which hotels will be won or offered, and instead usually focus more on the value aspect of bidding different zones and star levels.

Generally most of the "midtown" zones work fine for the average visitor, but at each star level there are some hotels in some zones which some users may choose to avoid (small rooms, less convenient to subway, etc)... so it's really dependent upon which star level you're bidding.
