thereuare Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few issues to cover... PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so if you use their service there is a chance you could receive a hotel with only one bed, and the hotel could charge extra for the additional kids staying in the room. As well, their zone of this area covers the entire island, so there is no way to target just the Palm Beach area.HOTWIRE will allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarnatees accommodations for everyone you include in your search. Their zone covers the northern half of the island, which covers Palm Beach, but you could just as easily end up on the western side of the island as well... although based upon the amenities shown before your purchase, you might be able to take a guess as to the hotel (and therefore the location)What is your minimum star rating and how much would you need the nightly hotel cost to be to make this trip do-able? What are the actual dates of your stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. annied000 Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks for the info! As for your questions.... minimum star rating would be 3* and actual dates are flexible +/- 2 days of August 5- Aug 10. As for nightly hotel cost... as low as possible, because I am not finding any deals on airfare (direct flight from nyc). The airfare alone seems to be running nearly $2000....ouch! Any advice on that end would be appreciated as well! Thanks!!!
thereuare Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 You can search HOTWIRE to get a general feel for prices, but as rates and strategies are based upon current rates, and airfare will likely be the "make or break" deciding factor, let us know once you're able to secure airfare and we'll look further into your options at that time. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. aejunk12 Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 my suggestion would be travel on a tuesday/wednesday for airfare. there's a high chance you get a free seat instead of lap seat. i travel on aa--and got a empty for my daughter this way.btw, have you consider renting a timeshare? probably the best way to go.. it's about the same price as a hotel
