Mnofstl007 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 I am looking at both hotwire and priceline, and am looking for a hotel for the anaheim convention center within immediate walking distance.I am trying to get into: the Clarion, the Hilton, the Marriot, or The Red Lion Hotel for October 21, and 22, checkout on the morning of the 23rd.Anyone have any suggestions on how to get into these hotels for cheap? I have 2 people going and we need different beds if that changes anything. Looking to spend around 300 for both nights. Can someone who knows what they are doing help me out? Or maybe someone who knows the trick into getting into one of these hotels for cheap.
thereuare Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Basically what you want to try to do is search HOTWIRE and compare what is offered to the Hotwire Hotel List to see if you can ID the property being offered. Since you want separate sleeping accommodations, you would need to search for triple or quad occupancy... while this usually means a room with 2 beds, it could also be a room with one bed and a pullout sofabed, rollaway, etc. While it's worth doing the search to see what you will find, i will add that you're likely looking for a needle in a haystack. HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone (the hotel with the lowest price is the one which is offered). Given there are so many hotels in this area, odds do not favor that one of the hotels you're seeking is going to just happen to be the least expensive for the nites you need. As well, assuming you're heading to the area for a convention, and these are the closest hotels to the convention center, it would seem likely that these properties would not be looking to discount too deeply (vs. other hotels in the area which are further from the venue), as they figure they can likely sell most of their rooms to convention attendees at full price. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. If you find anything which you believe is one of the properties you're seeking let us know and we'll try to confirm.Any questions regarding the above feel free to ask.PS- please read your messages Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Mynx Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Ditto - looking for same area, same dates - and would really like the Hilton. Not sure whether the Hilton is considered Disneyland North or South, and can't get them to tell me which it is :)
thereuare Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Mynx,You may have different criteria than the OP (willing to be further from the convention center, different budget, star rating, etc)... feel free to keep this thread updated with your progress, but if you'd like help with your own stay please start a NEW TOPIC.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks.
