LAX77 Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Planning a trip in mid August for a couple of nights. Having read most of the 'Halifax postings' it seems most of the 4* wins are for the Westin. Prefer the Marriott Harbourview. Does this hotel ever pop up and what information from HOTWIRE or PRICELINE might separate it from the Westin? Does the 3.5 * usually mean the Delta Barrington. Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 You can see the hotels reported to the board in the respective Priceline Hotel List and Hotwire Hotel List.As far as frequency, enter "Halifax" in the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the board to see all threads pertaining to this area; enter "Halifax Marriott" to see wins for the Marriott and/or "Halifax Westin" for wins for the Westin. While some hotels appear much more frequently than others, with PRICELINE you need to be prepared to receive any hotel in the zone that you select, as new hotels (or hotels which have not been reported in some time) can appear at any time. If you're trying to target, or avoid, a specific property HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're able to use the amenities shown before your purchase to take an educated guess as to the property being offered... when you ask about the Delta above, i wouldn't use just a star rating to confirm a hotel via HOTWIRE, and as noted above, with PRICELINE there is no way to take a guess as to the hotel you may likely receive. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. If you're ready to commit to a non-refundable purchase as this point in time let us know the actual dates of your stay, desired star rating, budget, etc and which service you think you'd like to use and we'll advise accordingly. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
