Now back to my topic. Yes, I did Hotwire search through your link and input 1 room, 2 adults for 7/4-7/9, I still got the same results of $119 for 4* hotel without resort and beach front amenities. However, I follow your instruction that input additional 2 children for exact same trip. Then I saw the two amenities (resort and beach front) that I expected. But the price was changed to $129. I really don't understand why you need to input children to get the expected hotel with more charges. In fact, we don't have any child staying with us during the trip. According to your hotwire forum, I believe my later search of $129 would be San Juan Intercontinental Resort. But how about my pervious search of $119 without children input? Do you think it is still possiblee to be Intercontinental Resort? It's kind of unworthy paying additional charge for 5 days without children. We like to hear your opinion and sincerely appreciate that. Thanks!

Last nite i didn't see the property in your first post... even when searching for 2adults/0children, which is why i asked if you were searching for more than 2adults/0children (as opposed to telling you to search for more than 2adults/0children)

A property with the amenities in your first post has not yet been reported to the board. HOWEVER, if you look at the details provided by HOTWIRE: 85% recommended, 500+ reviews, 4.5 ratings across the board from user criteria... this is the same details as appears when searching for 2adults/2children (which i assume is the InterContinental... although If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all " link on top of the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?)

Given the similarities i'll speculate that these are the same properties, but can't be certain as nobody has ever reported to the Inter-Continental to the board with the amenity set listed in the your first post. If this is the property you're hoping for the safer (as safe as an opaque purchase can be) is to pay the extra $10/nite and purchasing with all the 'known' criteria which matches the InterContinental.

Another way to play it is to see if this 'limited amenity' property appears for the first (or last) nite of your search and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to "look behind the curtain". If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

I am sorry about misunderstanding your question. But it accidentally helped me finding the way to get my expected hotel (Intercontinental Resort). I am just curious. When you searched Hotwire last night, did you see the amenities (resort and beach front) for $119 on 7/4-7/9?

I keep doing the same search with 2adult/0children and always got the same results in my first post. Even though I click CONTINUE and then click SEE ALL, I don't see more amenities than that in my first post. Maybe this is a new property with these amenities? I did lots of research for 4* hotels in San Juan area but I couldn't think of any one that matches these amenities in my first post.

As you suggested, I tried to search first night and last night only (2adult/0children) to see if the limited amenity appears. I got two different results. The first night (Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services) seems not to be Intercontinental Resort but the last night looks like. I played around with different dates and it appeared inconsistent results.

I have no idea which property will come out if I purchased the hotel via Hotwire with the following limited amenities:

San Juan area 4* 7/4 - 7/10 $119

Casino

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Laundry Facilities

Tennis Nearby

Spa Services

Can it be Intercontinental Resort?

My guess is that this property is the Inter-Continental. For this listing, take note of the "Recommended in x% of customer reviewers" figure, the number or reviews, and the ratings of the 5 criteria HOTWIRE asks of customers (condition, service, comfort, cleanliness, location)

Now repeat the search for just 2adults/0children and click the continue button next to the 4* offering (Casino, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services). Again, look at the details for this listing (the % recommended, number of reviews, and all the other criteria)... does all of this information match the previous listings?

I have compared all items that you suggested between 2adults/0children and 2adults/2children for the same period (7/4 -7/9). Customer reviewe parts are about the same. The only difference is amenity. There is no RESORT, BEACH FRONT and High-speed Internet Access for 2adults/0children search. And the price is extra $10. I am not sure if I can go ahead to purchase 2adults/0children search even though no resort icon appeared. I do hope it is Inter-Continental Resort.

Right, the difference is the amenities... and sometimes HOTWIRE will use multiple amenity combinations for the same hotel, so the question is that what we're seeing here?

If you're not willing to take the chance on the hotel appearing without Resort and Beachfront, do you think $129/nite is a good deal for what matches previous reports for the InterContinental?

Finally decided to take the risk to purchase the hotel appearing without Resort and Beachfront. But I am very happy with the outcome. Yes, it is InterContintenal resort.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the results. While service levels are a bit lacking all over San Juan, this is one of better hotels in the area with a great beachfront location (and stellar pool area!)

For breakfast, if you walk out of the hotel, cross the street and head to the right, not too far down the road on your left hand side down, at the end of a strip mall (the strip mall is perpendicular to the street) is the Golden Bagel Bakery... service is slow but makes for a much more affordable breakfast vs. eating at the hotel, and they make a FANTASTIC cafe con leche.
