travelingshoes Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 I want to stay in Marietta at the Hyatt Suites on Sat - 2/26. Can anyone give me a great bid strategy? i.e. - Star Rating for the hotel * Recommend starting bid amountIn times past I have bid for this hotel, but was rejected each time. I appreciate your help in advance.
thereuare Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 You can't bid for a specific hotel, only a minimum star level within the shaded region that priceline calls the 'marietta' zone... are you able to accept any hotel within that that area?If you've never used an opaque service before you may want to give this thread a read:I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
travelingshoes Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 I know that I can not "specify" a hotel. Looking at other post seems like 3 star and Marietta would more than likely give me the Hyatt. I can expand to other areas, I would prefer a limited area of Marietta/Perimeter.
thereuare Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 I don't know how 'desperate' you are, but tough to be too tight with no 72 hour waiting periods. You have one re-bid zone in the area when bidding 3* in Atlanta. If you want to make sure you get something, i would:Select 3* MariettaBid $33, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $40.If you'd rather take a chance of getting shut-out but go for a better price, i would:Select 3* MariettaBid $28, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $33.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.Any questions feel free to ask.
