julinba Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Hi,Hope i am doing this right---I am planning a trip to Washington DC (6/11-6/13) and is trying to book a hotel through Hotwire. This offer seems interesting:6/11-6/13$109Dupont Circle - Embassy RowBed ChoiceLaundryFitnessRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh speed internetThis previous Hotwire Washington DC thrad from Jan 12 suggests that a 3.5* hotel with bed choice near Dupont Circle might be Hotel Helix or Hotel Rouge; but the one in the January post is a boutique hotel and has no laundry, while the new one is NOT a boutique and has laundry. Any idea which hotel the new one might be?Thanks and I appreciate it.
thereuare Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! The 3.5* property in the other post is likely a different hotel as the amenities don't match those above.Unfortuantely a 3.5* property with this amenity combination has not yet been reported to the board, and i don't have any reasonable insight as to which one it may likely be. Not sure of your budget but there is a 4* hotel in this zone for just $15 more, which gives you a higher star rated hotel as well as a higher user review based upon Tripadvisor user ratings (this 4* shows a 4.0/5.0 vs. the 3.5/5.0 for the other property above). Priced at $109/nite i'm guessing it is the well reviewed Dupont Hotel. Would this work for your plans... if so we'll further look at this offering for increased confidence in our guess. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.PS- please read your messages Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
julinba Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 Thanks for your promptly reply -- will definitely make a reservation through the support link. Now the price of the 3.5* hotel has dropped to 94$ per night (almost sure--it has the same amenities and user rating) ---would it more likely to be the Westin Center as in this hotwire Washington DC thread, which was recently priced at $89?One of the pros for the 3.5* property is that it guarantees bed choice, but the cons are the relatively low customer rating, just 75% satisfaction. So the 4* hotel is certainly well worth consideration. I didn't find a 4* priced near $126 at Dupont Circle but there is another one with 109$ per night with satisfaction being 90%-------care to provide some clues as to which one it might be?Below are the amenities of the 4*:6/11-6/13, 4*, Dupont Circle. 109$ per nightSmoking freefitnessrestaurantbusiness centerhigh-speed internetWould it be the Dupont hotel like in this hotwire hotel thread?
julinba Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 I booked the 4* with $109 per night (through the HOTWIRE support link)---indeed, it is Dupont Hotel. Thanks so much!
