Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip South) Aria Hotel and Casino

Im looking for a 5* Hotel in Las Vegas from July 30 to Aug 4. I would love to be in the Venetian if possible. But all 5* Casino Hotels would be OK.

Hotwire has supposedly the Venetian or the Palazzo for 99$ for these dates. That seems a great deal, but I'm not sure if I might end up in the Palazzo...

On Travelocity Top Secret there are two hotels which are labeled 5* in the title but have only 4 stars in the rating :) I compared the ratings of both and one matches exactly the Venetian, the other the Palazzo. There is a Resort fee of 85$ which would also point to these two.

However what makes me a little unsure is that the 'supposed' Venetian only has 4 smileys whereas it has 4,5 in the non blind section. Also the 4 star rating would of course not match both, but it says 5* in the title... A third thing are the prices which are striked out which would be suspiciously low for a 5* LV hotel (149 for the weekend and 113 for the weekdays).

the listed amenities are only Swimming Pool, Non-Smoking and High-Speed Internet.

Any input on these? I don't care much for the 3$ price difference compared to hotwire, but if I would get a 100% match for the Venetian that would make me very happy :)

Travelocity's Top Secret hotels are new and we're still learning more about it.

My guess is that the 5* text and the 4* icons is just a programming error.

As your stay is not for about 2 months, i would check back with Travelocity each day for next couple of days to see if the smiley information becomes consistent. I'm guessing that the information is not updated in real time, but may be updated nighlty (or possibly even weekly)

The prices striked out are not for specific dates but an average over the last 30 days, so i wouldn't be too concerned in that regard.

I think the "tell" will be if the smiley ratings become consistent in the next few days.

just checked again and prices went up by about 20$/Night. Wanted to act quick an book on hotwire, alas the same... seem to be venetian/palazzo indeed, however 140 incl. resort fee is a little to much for me, probably going for vdara if prices don't com down again in the next few days.

now got the Aria via Hotwire for 117/night from July 30th to Aug 3rd. So no updates regarding the Travelocity offers.

was looking for some time to get a good deal, including the weekend, missed an oppurtunity for venetian/palazzo for around 100$ earlier on (see thread in general deals)

Wanted a 5* on the strip and not Trump and preferred one with a casino, till today there was only what was likely the Vdara in the 100$ category on HOTWIRE and that does not have a casino and has a resort fee of 15$, so when this 5* with casino on south strip popped up today for 117$ with no resort fee I did not wait any longer.
