thereuare Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Are you still seeing this property when searching for your dates, as the 4* hotel i'm seeing in this zone isn't currently showing a Spa icon. If you're still seeing the property above, are you searching for more than one room or for something other than the default 2aduts/0children?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! xkaitbabex Posted June 2, 2010 Author Report Posted June 2, 2010 sorry, i forgot to specify that my search was for 4 adults, one roomthe top one is the one im looking at $129 reccomended in %90... etc as i mentioned above
thereuare Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 This property matches the Inter-Continental Toronto Centre so that would be my best guess for this one. (the Sheraton used to use these amenities as well, so that would be a distant possibility as well, but as they haven't used this amenity set for quite some time i think the InterContinental is the more likely)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. xkaitbabex Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 im booking a hotel for june 18-20for 4 adults in one room 4* downtown toronto west hotelThe details on the hotwire ad say that it is :$132 per room, per nightrecommended in 90 percent of customer reviewssmoke free roomsrestaurantlaundry facilitiesand wireless internet any help and ideas as to what hotel this will be? thanks!
xkaitbabex Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 http://travela.priceline.com/hotel/hotelOv...93&plf=PCLNThat is the link to the priceline hotel i am looking at.For two nights - june 18 and 19, checking out on the 20. It is the Hilton in Downtown Toronto (not Hilton Garden Inn, just Hilton), and currently it says that it is 138 a night, from 162. Is that a temporary sale? If so, how long do they typically go for?Are there dangers of booking this hotel through priceline? Im not really sure what SPECIFIALLY I am trying to find out here... I just think 138 a night at the Hilton in Toronto seems too good to be true because its always 150+ on every other site ive looked at (Hotels.com, hotwire.com, Travelocity, etc) and i want to make sure that my friends and I aren't going to be screwed if we book this. Why isnt it asking how many people are going to be in the room? are there going to be surprise taxes? any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.
thereuare Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. All PRICELINE reservations, on both the 'retail' and the 'bidding' side, only guarantee double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. As you appear to be 4 adults for this stay, this is a risk you would need to be willing to accept OR book a fully refundable rate, book the hotel, then call the hotel to request a room with two beds... if they can guarantee then you're all set, if not, then you can cancel the fully refundable booking.Regarding the HOTWIRE hotel above, there is no "Montreal Downtown West" zone on HOTWIRE... are you sure you have the correct zone and amenities? Are you including 4adults on your search? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. xkaitbabex Posted May 29, 2011 Author Report Posted May 29, 2011 I also looked into the possibility of splitting up our group of 4 people and getting two rooms in the same hotel to see if it would be cheaper. So I searched on HOTWIRE for a hotel in Toronto, 2 nights (june 18-20), 2 adultsAnd i got a result that said it is: Downtown Toronto West4 starshotel amenities include : smoke free rooms, fitness centre, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet accessit's reccomended in 90% of customer reviewsand it has a BED CHOICE option. Two double beds is one of the options. Are there situations with hotels like these on HOTWIRE where you choose a certain bed type, and dont recieve it? Because if I book this wanting two double beds, but get one bed... It would drastically mess up our stay. So what I am wondering is first, what hotel do you think this is? And secondly, am I risking getting the wrong beds when I show up at the hotel, or is this HOTWIRE option pretty reliable?
