grnwayrob Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Received the Philadelphia Marriott on PL today for a bid of $48 a night, for Easter weekend, 3/25 to 3/27. This was my first bid, and was happy to be accepted on the first try! The Marriott's website shows $129/night for these dates. Combined with the new really low airfares into PHL, this looks like it's shaping up to be a really cheap weekend! We're not reanting a car, so hopefully we can get everywhere on foot or via cheap cab rides.
thereuare Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Congratulations on your win!Can you please double-check your priceline confirmation screen and verify that this is a 3* rated hotel... it was previously listed at a 4* (was it downgraded?). Even though you may have bid 3*, there is a chance you were upgraded, and this too would be on your confirmation page.Thanks... and have a great stay. grnwayrob Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 Thanks ThereUAre for the welcome. I'm glad to have found this site, and the friendly administrators here. I did double check the Priceline page, and the Marriott Downtown is indeed a 3* property, NOT a 4 * one. This is one of those properties that PL rates as a 3* when it could probably truthfully be higher. Other times 3* properties on PL sometimes are less desirable than a 2 1/2*, but I won't bid the 2 1/2 for fear of the dreaded "upgrade". Chicago comes to mind in this area.
