cardi Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Need 2 rms in MTW, MTE or Times Square Theater District for under $170 from 6/7 - 6/11. Just tried all three areas up to $160 w/no luck on Priceline. Any suggestions? Am I too late or my bid too low? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
AaronJB Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Prices do vary significantly from day-to-day; if bids are not accepted, it would not be an issue of bidding too late, it would be that - unfortunately - the bids are not high enough to be accepted for these particular dates. What star rating have you bid for in the zones mentioned above so far, and what would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
cardi Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 I started @ 4* and then went down to 3.5*. I would like to keep it under $225 per night if possible. I also went to the hotels website directly to attempt a reservation and many of them do not have rooms available for my dates. So, that may mean there are several events going on during my visit and rooms are scarce?
thereuare Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Yes, these are high demand, and therefore high priced, difficult dates. At the moment $225 doesn't seem realistic... do you have a back-up plan? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cardi Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 Backup plan is to stay by Laguardia and take cabs into the city. Any good suggestions for that area?
thereuare Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Are you ready to try up to $225 at this point? Given the difficulty of these dates, are you willing to add other zones? (ie- at the 4* level how about the ESB and/or CPS zones?... at the 3.5* level how about the ESB, CPS, and/or MSG zones?)Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?I'd also consider Downtown before and Hell's Kitchen before i resorted to staying out by LGA.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. iamfuzzy Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 I am going on the same date and ready to bid now. I have gone up to $245 for 3.5 and 4* all rejected. Willing to split dates 2 and 2. Will go to $300. HOTWIRE had a room at over $400!! I am also willing to go to 3* and will go for MTE,MTW CPS,EBS,MGS--can you advise? Thanks
AaronJB Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 Fuzzy, welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please post in a new thread and we will be happy to help. Given the rates that I'm seeing - and the fact that a number of hotels appear to be sold out - even $300 may be tough, unfortunately.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
