Hi,

I am looking into a two night stay 7/8/10 and 7/10/10 at Boston downtown or Cambridge now.

The aim is $60 or under room in area 1,2,4,5,6,9 of Boston map.

Initial bid today from 40 to 60, step by 4 has failed.

However, my research in the forum show previous successful bids like:

3.5* Hyatt Regency (Cambridge) for $60.

Most of them have bid date that are very close to the actual stay date.

So I guess I will be trying my bids until last minutes.

I will take HI hostels at Fenway Park as my backup plan.

Will they be crowded out on above dates, Thursday and Friday? Any other thoughts for backups?

I also suspect from my experience, bids in early time of a day are more easily to succeed.

I will keep the forum posted with my future efforts :)

Thanks again!

Keep in mind that rates are date specific, and you won't always be able to replicated another user's win if their dates are different, and have lower demand, than your own.

Using the Hyatt since that was the example you used above, rates for your dates are nearly $250/nite... so a $60 win has a very low probability of success, imo. As well, if you enter "Boston Cambridge" into the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the board, you'll see there are PLENTY of wins where it has take substantially more than $60 to win a hotel in this zone.
