geoffreynham
Hello all,I was incredibly stupid today and booked a hotel in the wrong location in Montreal. I'd been trying the rebidding technique for getting a 4* hotel in downtown Montreal, trying different combinations of locations, but the prices were too high. I gave up on 4* and decided to try 3*, but my first bid was rejected. So I tried to bid $5 higher and added Longeuil, forgetting that I was no longer just looking for 4* hotels... oops.Details:3* Longeuil06/30/10-07/05/10 Gouverneur Ile Charron$65I really don't want this hotel. The 3* hotel is not accessible by public transit, being on an isolated island outside of the city, and the reviews of it are pretty poor. I'll have to pay at least $20 to take a taxi to a metro stop every time I want to get out of the hotel, making it effectively a $105/day hotel. Is there anything I can do to get out of this hotel, aside from just not showing up to it and booking somewhere else? Thanks very much for your help!-Geoffrey Link to comment
lcheni
Call PL Customer Service Line to see whether they could help you out.For the Victoria Wknd Saturday-May 22, I was trying to book a last minute Banff/Canmore hotel Friday midnight; the first round for 4* hotel was rejected; In the rebidding for 3*, I did not check carefully that the dates were somehow switched to my intended July Vancouver Wknd (still on going) and that my bid was accepted. I noted the error after receiving the PL confirmation eMail. I followed up the PL customer service to see what could be done. After the review, the representative cancelled the wrong booking; As I understand, they would refund me the payment minus a $25 fee after a new PL booking with a subsequent refund request.PL Customer Service 1-800-657-9168Good Luck. geoffreynham
Thanks to Icheni, I called Priceline and they were understanding. They charged me a one night cancellation fee, which could be reduced to a smaller fee if I subsequently found a PRICELINE booking. In the end, I went with HOTWIRE instead, since it was cheaper. Here is my hotwire hotel thread. (And my apologies for forgetting to mention that I'd used the links on this board.)Thanks a lot for your help! Link to comment
thereuare
While you did incur a one nite fee, at least you didn't lose the entire purchase, and hopefully you're happy with PRICELINE's handling of the situation.Hope you enjoy your 'replacement' stay at the Inter-Continental.Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases.
