nancy531 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 This hotel has a great location, one block from Copley Place and the beautiful Boston Public Library as well as the being in the shadow of the John Hancock tower. You can walk to Newberry Street, the Prudencial Center (grab a duck tour), Fenway Park get the T from Coply station to anywhere. There are lots of restaurants and bars around the corner. If you are driving, it's right off the Mass Pike with a parking garage accross the street for $27 per day for hotel guests. Make sure you get your ticket validated on check in.The price is low for this location, there is a business center, a beautiful lobby, and a very friendly staff. For amenities you get Bath and Body Works soaps (two kinds...bath soap is large size) and shampoo (+ conditioner and lotion), hair dryer, iron, and coffee maker. On the down side...there is no sign on the outside of the building indicating it's a hotel. It's just the address (40 Trinity Place) and the convention center signs to follow, so look closely. Rooms are definitely two star rooms. You get a bedspread (not a comforter or duvet) two flat pillows (no extras) and normal sheets. We got a double bed, not a queen. There is a tube TV. Our room needed some paint and a new carpet. The coffee maker in ours didn't work and neither did the sconce lights above the bed. It wasn't the bulbs, I tried changing them...they really didn't work. The bath enamel was chipped and a towel rack was broken. One weird thing..the shower curtain rings were a bit too small for the rod, making it hard to close. As far as clean...it was pretty clean in the room -- but definitely run down in spots. If you expect luxury for this price you will be disappointed. If you want convenient and cheap - this is a great place to stay. It wasn't scary at all in terms of the people in or around the building - it's a very nice, upscale neighborhood. However...don't expect immaculately clean or updated facilities and you will be happyhere. I was.
