oceanik Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Priceline clearly says "All rooms will accommodate up to 2 adults."What if I need a room for 3?Is the hotel going to charge me extra?Any experience/recommendation?Thanks! If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
thereuare Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 All that PRICELINE guarantees is double occupancy... after that it is at the discretion of the hotel. You could request a room with 2 beds, but the hotel is under no obligation to provide you with one, and they may be unable, or unwilling, to accommodate your request. (and there could be an additional fee involved if they can accommodate your request)There is always a risk when using PRICELINE for more than double occupancy, with the risk being greater/less depending upon the area; in NYC it's considered very risky using PRICELINE for more than double occupancy as there are many rooms which only have one bed and can't even accommodate a rollaway, plus many hotels in NYC consider rooms with 2 beds to be a 'premium' room and charge extra for it... something you would have to pay to upgrade to, if the hotel allows it. On the other hand an area such as Orlando is used to catering to families and hotels there tend to have a high percentage of rooms with more than one bed, so the risk is less there (although still present)If you can't accept the risk of using PRICELINE for a given stay due to occupancy issues, HOTWIRE can be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantee sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search.Where is it that you're looking to stay? Now I don't want to take the risk of having to pay way more than I thought because we're 3 when I arrive there. Thanks! If something can go wrong, it will. lcheni Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 A few weeks ago, one 4* Vancouver Hotwire hotel offered the Room/Bed Option. After selecting the hotel, the next page led to Room/Bed option (see "Extra $$ for Bed Choice" in this Forum, especially of the thereuare's strategy Post #6). But since, my occasional same HOTWIRE search has not turned up any Room Choice option yet.Hotwire Bed Choice OptionHope this helps.
