emorton91
For June 8-11 the Wynn accepted my winning priceline bid accepted 85 Link to comment
thereuare
wolam,The Trump is no longer in PRICELINE's Strip North zone... it is in a new Strip North Vicinity so at the moment you can safely avoid the Trump by only bidding the Strip North zone. However, you can't bid on a specific hotel and there are other 5* hotels in this zone than the properties above (the Encore is the first to come to mind)... are you willing to accept any 5* hotel in this zone?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. wolam
Yes, I'm willing to accept any 5* in this zone. Please suggest a strategy.I might lower my starting bid since there was a winning bid at $85.thanks, Link to comment
thereuare
The other user's win were for midweek nites, which are often half of the prevailing rates for weekend nites, which your nite above is, so i'm doubtful you'll be successful at the same $85 win. Before suggesting a strategy, it appears that the South Strip zone would be cheaper than the North Strip zone... are both of these areas acceptable OR did you only want to bid the North Strip zone first? Please click this PRICELINE link before replying and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. wolam
Thanks for pointing it out, I was thinking the same thing after looking at their dates.I would rather be in the North strip (either Palazzo, Wynn, Encore, or Venetian). Link to comment
thereuare
At the 5* level you have TEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* North Strip...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. BeritOlam
If $140 fails me, then I might consider South stripThanks for your time.My take -- $140 is pushing it.....IF you are demanding a 5-star place on a weekend (June 25-26). All the serious hotel bargains are usually midweek. It looks like you can get the new Vdara hotel for $144/night over that weekend (through HOTWIRE)....so maybe there's hope of getting something a little lower via PRICELINE bidding. wolam
I think you might be right... I got this at the second rebidding zone trial:Thank You for Naming Your Own Price – Unfortunately, we can't accept your offer. During our search, however, we did find special priceline rates available for your travel dates at the hotels shown below.Does it mean Priceline does not even want to deal with me?What should I do? try again or reconsider South strip? yellowdog
wolamDoes it mean Priceline does not even want to deal with me?Yes, PRICELINE is saying that they don't have any inventory for the price you offered for a room. But this might change. What should I do? try again or reconsider South strip? If you feel that you have reached your max for the North Strip and want to try to secure a rooms now so go for the South Strip. Or you can wait and keep bidding your max for the North zone.Let us know how we can help you futher. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. wolam
If I bid for South Strip but also want to include North Strip, what are the order of my bidding steps?I noticed PRICELINE has declined my offer on two separate occasions right at the first rebidding zone step. It seems like their algorithm has detected that I am using rebidding zones to get myself in the game. Link to comment
thereuare
PRICELINE is declining your last two offers because your bid was not high enough... not because you may be using re-bid zones.Which zone(s) did you include and what amounts did you bid? Please click this PRICELINE link before replying and use for your future bidding. wolam
I used the recommended steps below (the last time, I started at $120, then go up to $125 by adding Near East Strip... and got rejected right away... It didn't let me re-bid...Select 5* North Strip...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140 Link to comment

wolam
I gave up. I tried up to $165 but they didn't accept my offer. Should I try again later?I have made a reservation earlier at Venetian for $219 so I'm going to stick with that. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
yellowdog
wolamDepending on how your reservation looks like would i not give up. You still have time to bid. if you're ok with the $219 rate so why not bid a bit higher?Have you tried the South zone, or you have decided for the North zone? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.PS. wolam
I will try a few more times but I figure the $219 Venetian package has other incentives for $50 slot credit, free breakfast, etc.. and it's cancellable 3 days prior. South zone is too risky for me b/c I don't like Vdara (no casino and bad service... according to tripadvisor reviews).I will let the forum know what I end up. Thank you for your time. Link to comment

wolam
Thank you so much for the discount code. I had to change the date to Jun 27-28 and happily ended up with Bellagio for $.Too bad it didn't work out with PRICELINE before. It seems like the 5* on the Strip (North) are pretty booked up over that weekend. Thanks again for your help. See you on my next trip :-) Link to comment
