PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy - nowhere is this more true than NYC, where rooms can be very small and rooms with two beds (some hotels don't have them) when available, often go for a premium. I'd suggest looking on HOTWIRE, as indicating four adults would ensure bedding for the whole party.
