starbird Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Rejected at $50. Added Hyde Park and was accepted at $55 (actual price 66.21). (Yes, I used the forum bidding PRICELINE link.)I was hoping for the Holiday Inn & Suites Rosemont, but this is under a mile away and should be fine. Free parking and wireless. When did PRICELINE split the ORD region? Is it known which hotels are in which new zone (north/south)?
starbird Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 Priceline split its big ORD zone in two, but the BetterBidding hotel list still shows a single ORD zone. It looks like individual hotels are being updated as new reports come in.I did a little homework with the Priceline map, and figured out which ORD hotels were in which zone. These lists include only those hotels that were already on the forum ORD list.Chicago (O'Hare Airport ORD North)4* Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport tripadvisor review4* Westin O'Hare tripadvisor review3.5* Hyatt Rosemont REVIEW / tripadvisor review3.5* Marriott O'Hare REVIEW / tripadvisor review3.5* Marriott Suites O'Hare3.5* Sheraton Suites REVIEW / tripadvisor review3* Courtyard by Marriott tripadvisor review3* Radisson Airport (previously 2.5*) Chicago O'Hare Hotel (previously Doubletree Club) REVIEW3* Residence Inn3* Wyndham O'Hare CLOSED 1/1/20102* Extended Stay America O'Hare REVIEW2* Ramada Inn (now 2.5* Holiday Inn Express not yet reported) tripadvisor reviewChicago (O'Hare Airport ORD South)4* Hyatt Regency4* Renaissance (previously 3.5*)4* Sofitel (now 3.5* Embassy Suites not yet reported)3.5* Crowne Plaza Holiday Inn3.5* DoubleTree tripadvisor review3* Aloft3* Four Points Sheraton O'Hare REVIEW / tripadvisor review3* Holiday Inn O'Hare Area (5615 North Cumberland Ave) (previously 2.5*)2* Candlewood Suites tripadvisor reviewNotes: Sofitel is now an Embassy Suites and dropped from 4* to 3.5*.The Wyndham O'Hare closed around the first of the year. I believe they've actually shuttered the building, an unusual occurrence for a luxury hotel.
starbird Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 Here are some other hotels that I can find through Priceline, but which aren't on the forum list. I presume that means there are no win reports for them. The fact that Priceline will let me book these hotels through their site is not a guarantee that they're available for name-your-own-price bidding. This zone was split a few months ago and we have noted next to most hotels which zone it is located in (north/south) and will continue to do so until i am (or anyone else who wants to volunteer) to find a few extra minutes to sort out the rest.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.EDIT to ADD: just saw and merged your Chicago O'Hare update with this thread :) ... thanks for taking the lead and helping us update the Priceline Hotel List Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
