RockyCFC Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Hi AllI am a newbie to this forum, and have had a browse around, I am looking to get a 4.5* type hotel in Beverly Hills for the above dates. Now if I bid say $129-$139 for a 4* hotel on Priceline, am I likely to get a hotel I could have got for $99, or will the higher price likely get me a nice hotel?I missed out on a $149 hotel on Hotwire awhile back, it now seems to be $179 for that date. So I thought I'd look into Priceline...Any advice or help is greatly received...
yellowdog Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) You will likely overpay for your room if using PRICELINE that way. Please see this link: Don't bid higher for a specific hotel Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
RockyCFC Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 Thanks for the advice Yellowdog. So we tried a $90 bid for 4* Beverley Hills - West Hollywood and failed. So we added Brentwood - Westwood to the search, and upped the bid to $95.We go that bid accepted and we got a room at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. This seems ok, reviews are generally good, and it certainly seems to be a substantial discount over the rates available on the other sites!Used the PRICELINE links from this site :)
yellowdog Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) We hope you'll like the Hyatt.Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog
