jdfloyd Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Wanting a hotel in downtown Miami close to the port of Miami as we are going on a cruise. We need a hotel for one night pre-cruise on April 29. What bids are being accepted for this time frame...and what areas do I bid on if downtown is rejected the first time? Thanks
thereuare Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! It is recommended that you bid 3* in the Downtown zone as that area seems to offer the best value. As far as what zones you add if Downtown is rejected, we feel it is important for users to know how to check on their own since this should be checked before each bidding cycle!! We could tell you "Zone A is a re-bid" and between now and the time you bid a hotel could have been added to that zone, thus no longer making it a re-bid zone, and then you'd win a hotel in that area and be upset/disappointed.Re-bidding is explained in this thread: PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and we'll be more than happy to answer any questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones for you (there are two when bidding 3* in this area).Once your set (again, if you're unsure of your re-bid zones please confirm them with the board before bidding):Select 3* Miami Downtown...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $46, if rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1 and...Bid $54.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. jdfloyd Posted February 22, 2005 Author Report Posted February 22, 2005 thereuare...tried as you suggested..all offers rejected. We don't leave until April 29..so I'll wait 3 days and try again!
thereuare Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Next time you try i would up the last bid to $55 (instead of $54).There is a 3.5* available on HOTWIRE for $64/nite which matches the description of the Sheraton Biscayne Bay (i think i saw in another post that you loved that property, so there is another option for you if you'd prefer to target that property and pay a few dollars more).Let us know whatever you decide to do. thereuare Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Congratulations on your winning bid!Glad to see/hear it worked out well for you. Funny how sometimes all it may take is $1 more!Enjoy your stay and upcoming cruise.PS - those weren't your re-bid zones :) , so you're actually quite lucky you didn't receive hotels in those areas! (unless of course you were willing to accept those areas as well) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
