I've been slowly bidding up on a 3.5* Reading hotel both using other areas without 3.5* hotels, and bidding every other day. Last unsuccessful bid two days ago was $53, and today's $55 accepted on first shot. I couldn't have left much money on the table it appears. The hotel:
