jeswong86
Hi,I am new to PRICELINE bidding and am trying to book a 4* hotel in the River North/Millenium Park area (prefernce in River North) this coming weekend (I know it is last minute). I am willing to pay no more than $97 a night, with $80 as my best price. What is the best strategy to pursue? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The memorial day weekend is definitely a busy period and prices are above-average - can you confirm exactly which dates you are interested in (5/28-30 or 5/28-31?) Thank you. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
jeswong86
Yes, of course. I am planning to stay two nights from 5/29 and checking out 5/31... Link to comment
thereuare
I assume $80 is your maximum bid price (which comes to ~$97 all-in?). At the moment I'm doubtful that this will be enough for a 4* hotel, but if you want to give it a try...Are you willing to pay more for a hotel in the NMA zone vs. the Loop zone OR is your goal the least expensive property in either of these two areas? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. jeswong86
My goal is the least expensive area in either of these 2 areas, although I hear River North is better as far as shopping, nightlife, and entertainment. I will even accept going to a 3.5* hotel at this point. What would you suggest as a reasonable max bid? Thanks! Link to comment
swiz
I just tried chicago 4* and 3.5* for 5/28-5/31 in Mill Park-Loop and NMA-NR I used a variety of options including 4* Lincoln Park to increase my bids but nothing.... my bids started at $76, 86, 96, and ended at $101, nothing doing. I will try again tomorrow, probably starting at 101....Swiz Link to comment
thereuare
I'm going to guess you're likely looking at the $120-$150 range... if you let us know your maximum bid we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Also, since you're willing to accept a 3.5* as well, are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jeswong86
My goal is least expensive for a 3.5* or better stay - if I can get a hotel for a max of $125 that would be great. Link to comment
thereuare
At the 3.5* level in Chicago you have THREE re-bid zones.
