ssnfrbs Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 My husband has a conference at the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center so I plan to travel along. We are not familiar with Ft. Lauderdale at all and want to get a nice hotel with close proximity to the convention center. We will be there Oct 9-14th and would love to spend no more than $100 a night (if possible). I am open to using either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE from this forum but am not sure of the exact area description to look for. Any advice or recommendations?
thereuare Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 First please confirm that you're looking at the Convention Center at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, Ft Lauderdale... if so you can enter this address at MAPS and HOTELS.com and see the location as well as area hotels surrounding it.This location is in the SouthEast corner of both of PRICELINE's and HOTWIRE's downtown zone. However, this zone is about 3 miles from North to South... do you need to be within walking distance OR just 'close' enough to take a taxi to/from the convention center if need be? Would a hotel anywhere within PRICELINE's Downtown zone be acceptable? What is your desired star rating? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ssnfrbs Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 Thanks for the help. I think after more research we'd like to stay at the Hilton Pier 66. I don't suppose you know the description to look for on Hotwire?
AaronJB Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 The list of HOTWIRE hotels in FL reported to the board can be found in the Hotwire Hotel List. Keep in mind that only one hotel shows at each star level for each set of dates and this hotel may not be showing on these dates.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ssnfrbs Posted March 28, 2014 Author Report Posted March 28, 2014 This trip was cancelled and never booked.

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.
