I got the same deal and thought I got a deal on the beach side. But to confirm, I called the hotel and found that it is actually a golf course view room that I was booked for even though I will be checking in at the beach side hotel. So be aware... I am very disappointed. I will try to change the room but might not happen.

Ithica Man - so how far are these rooms from the beach? If they are still within walking distance I will be pleased. I didn't expect an ocean-view room for this price, so I won't be dissapointed with golf course view. If I get the ocean-view that would be GREAT.

It is 1.5 miles away from the beach. If you look at the map, you will see a golf course close from the diplomat hotel on the left. The hotel provides the free shuttle service that is why it is the "Near Beach" location. Call Westin and see if you have a room on the beach side and see if you can upgrade it. Because they have 998 rooms on the beach side and 60 rooms on the golf course, they might give you a break. That's what I am going to try on that day, but if not, that's the price I have to pay for gambling with the hotel stay.
