ryderldb Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I'm planning to go to amsterdam 9/6 - 9/10 and would like to stay at the grand amrath Amsterdam. It seems like most people have luck with HOTWIRE with this hotel. I see most people get prices around 110-130, but I'm coming up with 180 a night. Am I doing something wrong? I know 180 is still a good rate for the hotel, but obviously if I could save more it would be better. Thanks
thereuare Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are date specific, and demand (and therefore prices) for your dates may be higher than when others have purchased this hotel for less. What are hotel direct rates for your stay above? What are the amenities HOTWIRE associates with the property you're being offered? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ryderldb Posted May 23, 2010 Author Report Posted May 23, 2010 According to the hotel website, they are sold out on those dates. I guess what I'm trying to ask is if I'm doing something wrong. I'm basically doing a search and refining it down to 4+ stars and city centre.
yellowdog Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I guess what I'm trying to ask is if I'm doing something wrongWhat would you do wrong? Do you mean that you would do something wrong since you can't get the same rates as the previous reports? Please list the amenties HOTWIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at if you need any ID help for the hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
ryderldb Posted May 23, 2010 Author Report Posted May 23, 2010 Yeah basically. I'm just comparing the process with the PRICELINE bidding and it just seems a lot "easier". Almost feels like I'm missing something.

ryderldb Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 My friend ended up getting a good deal at Hotel Amrath through his girlfriend. Everything worked out in the end.
