Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Chicago (Mag Mile-Streeterville) Embassy Suites Lakefront

I would like to do a PRICELINE bid on a great location, probably Mag. Mile Streeterville Area, for four nights anytime between the dates 6/26 and 7/2. I am hoping for a minimum of 4*. A pool would be nice since this is a vacation trip, but not mandatory.

We have three adults on this trip, a couple and a friend. We either need two reasonably priced rooms or a large higher priced room that the three of us could share costs on. If we buy two rooms, the budget should be around 100 for each room before taxes and parking. If one very large room, we could pay 200 or a little more, but it would need to have a large bathroom and two beds, plenty of room for luggage.... I don't know how to find this.

We will have a car but will probably just park it and spend our days walking the city. I understand that it will be pricey to park.

We plan to enjoy museums, a Cubs game, shopping, restaurants maybe a show...

Open for any suggestions.

I do sometimes recommend looking in the suburbs for those who are driving (free parking, nice areas, some sights), but the spread between city and suburban prices for these dates is not as much as usual during the Summer.

On HOTWIRE, when searching for 3 adults for 6/28-7/2, there is a 3.5* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville zone w/Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Complimentary Breakfast,, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $115. While not a 4*, this would be a likely match for the Embassy Suites Lakefront, which is a very nice/higher-end Embassy Suites property. It would also offer free breakfast, pool, great location and free evening reception, not to mention a larger suite room. There are a couple of other deals of note when searching for 3 adults on HOTWIRE (such as what appears to be the Intercontinental for $149 and Indigo for $105, but I'd really recommend the ES - excellent location and would provide the larger room (and freebies - breakfast/reception.)

If you were to get the ES Lakefront via HOTWIRE, there is a public parking lot at Navy Pier, which is literally only a couple of minutes East - $24 a day.

Plus, there's a giant grocery across from this ES - you could buy snacks/drinks/etc and keep them in the kitchenette.

You could also bid on PRICELINE, although that wouldn't guarantee 2 beds.

Extremely good deal for these dates - if you do go to the Dominicks Grocery across the street, do sign up for their Fresh Values card (free, takes a minute), which allows you to get the majority of the sales each week. There is also a very nice, upscale grocery and cafe around the corner and a bit East (Fox and Obel - fox-obel.com)
