I am planning a trip to NYC 08/14/10-08/20/10 and I see that someone won a the Sheraton Towers close to the same time I will be in NYC for $130/night, which sounds good to me. Is it pretty safe to assume that if I follow the same bidding pattern I would have a pretty good chance of getting the same hote?

I will also be bringing my two year old son, I understand there is a risk of getting a small room but we are willing to live with this risk. Are there any area's in Manhattan that tend to have larger rooms on Priceline or should I stay away from naming your own price?

No, rates are date specific, so even just changing a stay by one day can have a big effect on availability.

I would avoid the 3.5* level in the CPS zone based upon the Hudson hotel, which would not comfortably hold the three of you.

If you'd like help with a bidding strategy let us know the zone(s) you decide upon and your maximum bid.

I am flexiable as to where we stay in Manhattan so long as it is safe and accessable to public transit. I was looking at Midtown West or Midtown East. I am hoping to pay no more than $180/night. From what I understand this time in August should be a reasonable time to visit New York.

There are some "known" hotels which are less/more convenient than others depending upon the star level... what star level are you seeking?

Would a 15 minute walk to the subway be considered 'convenient' or 'too far'?
