bbhaley Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 1st bid: 3* $50 University zonerejected but counter-offered to accept at $63I have never been counter-offered so I wasn't sure what to do...as I am booking for tonight, I figured I might as well accept. Is this usually the right thing to do?Anyways, when I accepted, they upgraded me to a 3.5*. Room Cost: $63Taxes & Fees: $16.08Total Room Cost: $79.08I found the zones to be confusing as I don't know Syracuse - I didn't realize University zone was the downtown zone too.I used this site's PRICELINE link.
thereuare Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Congratulations on your success! You can usually undercut the counter-offer by using re-bid zones as explained in this Priceline Suggests Price to Pay thread (if you're not familiar with re-bidding it is explained in this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained) However, this looks like a substantial discount to a traditional booking so i wouldn't worry too much over the few additional dollars you might have been able to have saved.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
