LWQuestie Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I've bid 4* for the White House, Convention Center and DuPont from $65-$75 in $2 increments (ran out of re-bid zones) on several days.I see on the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins that there have been wins around $65-70, so I'm hoping for success.I've also bid 3* around $60-70.I'll go up to $100 if absolutely necessary, but I'd rather not. You think the chances of a low price hit will go up as next week gets closer? I always use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start my purchases and searches! You should, too!

LWQuestie Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 No, both are longer. One is 5/27-6/1 and the other is 5/28-5/31.I've clicked your PRICELINE link for all of my tries so far. I always use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start my purchases and searches! You should, too!
thereuare Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Rates are not that high and i suspect you're close... but may need just a bit more to get over the hump... How high would you be willing to go to $80? $85? $90? for a 4* before lowering your star rating and trying for a lower rated hotel? ( you mention trying up to $70 for a 3*... but have you done any 3.5* bidding??)Rates in DC can often be quite high, fortunately that's not the case at the moment for these dates, and i'd think anything under $100 for a 4* hotel is "pretty good" for this city, imo. Thanks for using our PRICELINE links to begin your bidding :)Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll suggest a strategy to follow. LWQuestie Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 I'm (grudgingly) willing to go up to $100 for a 4*. I'll try again later tonight and report back.If I can't get a 4*, I'd like something with free breakfast (I know there's no guarantee), but it seems like 3.5* is a weird middle. A little uppity, but chintzy on the perks (no breakfast, pay internet, etc). I always use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start my purchases and searches! You should, too!
AaronJB Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Are any properties showing on HOTWIRE for your dates with a free breakfast icon? That would be a way to guarantee a free breakfast and a discounted rate.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
