kiltman Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Have been bidding for 3 days so far.Have bid on various levels of cars, buy my price per level has not changed. I figure sooner or later they will accept the price I am willing to pay.As a last resort I will go to a lower level of car.Current declined bids /per day:Full Size:$17Convertible: $21Premium:$18Standard:$14I am basing these bids on other wins at MCO for that level of car.I figure being June, would probably be the beginning of their slow months. Although Memorial Day may be working against me.Will respond when I finally have a win. :)

kiltman Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 Hotwire: Expedia:Full: 22 24premium: 47 58conv: 68 88I know I am bidding a bit low (really low for the convertible) but nothing different for other wins in mco
thereuare Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 You may ultimately success at your current bid amounts, but often rentals for 5+ days are treated as weekly rentals, with the total price staying just about the same regardless if for 5 days or 7 days. So just to make the numbers easy, let's say a given car class for the week is $175 total... your 5 day rental may need a $35 bid, where as a 7 day rental would only need a $25 bid.So if you're comparing your bid prices to other wins for weekly rentals, the daily rate needed may be higher for your 5 day rental vs. somebody else 7 day rental. Add to the mix that rates are date specific, and rates for this particular week may be higher than rates for other wins which you have seen. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way.
