babying Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Made the 1st bid of $55 with the Springfield area. Really wanted that area due to the close proximity of relatives and where we have to be on Friday afternoon. Got denied and offer a re bid of $68. Was going to rebid on a zone without a 3 star but since we had to leave tomorrow, we decided to take the rebid of $68.We got:Residence Inn Springfield Old Keene Mill Springfield6412 Backlick Road Springfield, Virginia 22150 Now we are very happy with this since that is definitely the hotel we wanted. After the family function we will have to run off to Pittsburgh to the other hotel we bid on earlier this month.Rate on the website is $239 and it also includes a continental breakfast. Awesome deal.We did use the PRICELINE link. Thanks Betterbidding!!!!!!
AaronJB Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)That is a phenomenal discount off regular rate for this property! A larger room and free breakfast are additional added values, too.Thank you for letting us know about this new PRICELINE property so that we can update the site's priceline hotel list for the state, as well.Thank you for sharing your result with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
babying Posted May 23, 2010 Author Report Posted May 23, 2010 Just a followup on this hotel. It is simply awesome. Best Residence Inn we have stayed at ever hands down. I believe the hotel is just under a year old. So it is fairly brand new. Also not a continental breakfast but a hot breakfast buffet. Even got my car serviced in a hour. Also made the mistake of staying over at family on Friday night so we left a room night dark in Pittsburgh but we did eventually make it. I know there are no changes ever on Priceline so my loss (small when you compare the amount we have saved).
thereuare Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Thanks for the follow-up... glad you had a great stay! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
