I won a last minute bid...place on 2/16/05 for 2/18-2/20 in D.C.

I may have overpaid by $5-10 but it was my last chance for an area walkable to the mall. I bid like this:

$50 for 4* White House...denied

Had 1 free rebids to $60...denied

Added 3* for $55...denied

Added Convention Center-Captiol Hill for 4* at $60...denied

Added CC-CH 3* at $55 and won.

I truly only wanted these two locations so I knew I may have overbid but who knows at the last minute for a holiday weekend.

Just returned from D.C. and the hotel is an absolute steal for $55. This hotel is the best of 3 stars I have seen and could pass for a borderline four star hotel. Lots of amenities and a great fitness center.

Wonderful chinatown location and only 10 minute walk to the Archives and Smithsonian Museums.

Have happy bidding.

Thanks for sharing your win with the board.

A $5-$10 overbid is still better than traditional rates... sometimes overpaying just a bit is worthwhile when the risk of being unsuccessful would result in much high rates.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
