Heading to NYC with my husband 07/28 to 8/1 (going to be blazing hot, I'm sure). Not our first time in the city but will be first real vacation in the city (past were volunteer trips - stayed in churches, etc.).

Prefer MTW or Times Square 3.5* or 4* but will consider 3* if bids not accepted. Next best neighborhood for us would be Chelsea (clubs!!) or Central Park South.

How should I start?? We have lots of time before we go so please also share your thoughts on whether it might be best to wait before bidding.

Thanks!!!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Are you willing to pay more for a 4* hotel vs. a 3.5* or is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid for this trip?

In other words... if given the choice would you prefer a 4* for say $170 or a 3.5* for $140?

I'll pay up to $175 for EITHER 3.5* or 4*. Obviously, I'd prefer the best ** I can get but I will still pay up to $175 even for a 3.5*.

If it's only 3* my maximum bid would be $150.

Thank you :)
