Priceline Hotel: NYC Hotel 6/20-6/27

I am looking for a 4 Star-3 Star hotel in CPS, TS or MW June 20-27. My reason for focusing on these areas, is that my sister is already staying at hotel with her school group in TS and I need to be relatively close to her.

I would like my max bid to be 120 ( not including taxes& fees) I know its relatively unlikely to get a 4 star at this rate, but I have had random luck with Priceline before and thought it would be worth a shot. Would love feedback on likelihood of getting a lower star at this rate? After reviewing the hotel list and reading reviews of each hotel, I feel okay about the 3.5 and 3 stars in each of these areas. I am also open to switching hotels if it comes to that!

Would appreciate any help with a bidding strategy. Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I'd say your chances of a 4* are very low, a 3.5* or 3* slightly better, but far from a sure thing... your budget is going to be tough for this stay.

Did you want to try for a 4* first anyway?

Can i ask which hotel you're sister is staying in as it may be near a subway line which would make other neary zones, such as MSG and/or Chelsea (as you get to the 3* level) a viable option which would increase your chances given more hotels eligible to accept your bid.

Sorry, I knew I needed to use the link to bid, but didnt realize i need to click it before replying. She is staying around the border of the border of TS and CPS. Her group is split among 3 hotels and she wont know which she has until we get there. That's why I picked CPS then TS then MTW as my order of preference. Just seemed like those would be best bets, but I am willing to consider other options/information.

THanks!!!

At the 3.5* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3.5* CPS, TS and MTW...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120

Any questions feel free to ask.

Used the above strategy last night with no luck. Will try again tonight. Did some rebudgetting and can go up to 150 before taxes/fees. Will try again tonight. Also considering splitting the stay in half if no luck tonight. Just wanted to post an update. Used your PRICELINE links as well.

I'm guessing that $150 will still likely fall short for a 3.5*, but you can re-try as follows:

Select 3.5* CPS, TS and MTW...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

it did. it also fell short at the 3 star level as well, even up to 160. Will try again tonight. Considering breaking the stay in half, but starting to feel panicky with this last minute wait, but life threw me a financial curve ball, so i am trying to stay hopeful!

A search on HOTWIRE for my dates 2 adults, reveals a 2 star Central Park hotel for 133 a night. 60% customer rating, fitness center, restaurant and business center. any ideas?

The 2* Central Park property matches previous reports for the Days Hotel Broadway so that would be my best guess for this one.
