danba Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Hi all,This is my first posting. I really like this forum; it is full of helpful tips.I was looking on a website called easyclicktravel.com, which I know is not the expertise of this forum. However, I was hoping someone might recognize the hotel offered by the description:Our
thereuare Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 Use our EasyClickTravel Search Tool and select Miami InterContinental from the drop down list on the left and i believe you'll find the same description you describe above.Alternatively here is a DIRECT LINK to what we believe is the Inter-Continental. danba Posted February 22, 2005 Author Report Posted February 22, 2005 Thanks. How about this one? searched Hotwire for miami beach area for 03/10-03/14 and got the following:Miami Beach - See map Selected amenities include: Beachfront, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Kitchenette, Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service). View complete amenity list and description $106 per room per night also, can you really cancel a reservation made via easyclick up to 72 hours prior to check-in ?
thereuare Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Yes, EasyClickTravel's current policy is that you can cancel prior to 72 hours (i believe this is also shown near the last step of the check-out process). We'll need to know the star rating of the above Miami Beach hotel in order to have a look. danba Posted February 23, 2005 Author Report Posted February 23, 2005 The miami beach hotel I described in my previous post is a 3 star hotel (it is presented as the best value for this category - $106). Could this be the NEW Casablanca on the Ocean Hotel ?We are actually interested in a resort, but it seems like we can't get it for a resonable price. We tried priceline and used free bids and got up to $150 and couldn't get it. Is there a chance to get it for ~$120 if we wait and bid again closer to our stay date?to make sure we are not left without a hotel for a resonable price, I tried to reserve the Howard Johnson Caribbean thrhough easyclick for $89 a night. I got a response that they can't confirm the reservation at the moment and they will get back to me within 48hours. Is there a chance that I won't get this one either? we stayed at the Caribbean 3 years ago and were happy with it. I think the next cheapest price I saw for this hotel was $135. So this seems like a good deal for this time period (and we can also cancel it if we find something better)Thanks.
thereuare Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Best guess is that the above HOTWIRE offer is indeed the Casablanca on the Beach, but a warning that the REVIEWS are not great.Regarding EasyClickTravel, the 'on request' means that they have already sold their allotment of rooms for the date(s) of your stay, but they can contact the hotel to try to get more. This is a manual process which is why it can take up to 48 hours... some hotels readily give them additional rooms at their block rate, while others may typically not ever give them additional rooms. So yes, there is a chance that you will not get this hotel too. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
danba Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 We didn't get the easyclicktravel reservation.Do you have any suggestions how we should proceed? as I said before we tried priceline for a resort using free bids and went up to $150 and didn't get it. Ulitmately, we would like to stay around 35th-45st in Miami beach.Thanks.
thereuare Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 QUICKBOOK seems to have a lot of choice within your price range (although not resort class properties... but then again, neither is the Howard Johnson).Another options is to split your purchase on HOTWIRE... different hotels are appearing if you search for 4/10-4/12 and 4/12-4/14 vs. 4/10-4/14. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
danba Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 Thanks. I'll try quickbook.BTW, we are planning on being there between 03/10-03/14 (and not in April).
