thereuare Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Please click this HOTWIRE link and reply to this thread... we'll then have a look at the offering above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Grkbella03 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 I clicked on that link..and searched for it again as well. It seems to be gone now... :) Do they come back sometimes for same dates or once theyre off the list, its gone?
thereuare Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 HOTWIRE will only show one hotel at each star level per zone... the hotel with the lowest price is the one offered. So if a different 3.5* all-inclusive property is being shown, then this new hotel is currently offering a lower price than the one seen previously. If there is no 3.5* all-inclusive offered in this zone then this previous offering has either sold, or pulled, the inventory that they offered to HOTWIRE. Sometimes they add inventory to the system and make more rooms available... sometimes not, it all depends upon occupancy levels at the property and how much they're looking to fill rooms at deeply discounted prices.Let us know if anything reappears or if there is another offering you're interested in.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Grkbella03 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 Thanks for the information!I am going to figure this out this weekend... I may be using the Travelocity "secret hotels" option if I'm going on this trip for sure. Should I post the results from that if I go that route instead of using HOTWIRE?
thereuare Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Yes, please do report the results no matter how you book... and if you do book thru Travelocity, please use our link to begin your purchase, and also make note of the details of the hotel you received (ie- the city, zone, amenity icons shown before your purchase, etc) so we can make a note of that as well.Let us know if we can be of further help.Good luck and let us know what you decide. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Grkbella03 Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 I know the Travelocity thing is new...but none of the hotels in the secret list mentions things like beachfront or resort...do you think it means its not on beach or is a resort? Or they just dont include everything in amenities list?
Grkbella03 Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 One more thing - the hotwire listing I mentioned before is still showing except its showing 104 dollars for Juy 18 to July 22nd. Any ideas what hotel this might be?
thereuare Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 The 3.5* HOTWIRE property has not yet been identified.I don't believe Travelocity's product uses any type of Beach icon yet... if you do other searches for beach-type locations (Caribbean) do you see any hotels that show a Beach icon? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Grkbella03 Posted July 1, 2010 Author Report Posted July 1, 2010 I went with Travelocity top secret hotels for July 18 to July 22nd.....4 star hotel for 96 dollars a night all inclusive in Punta Cana. Got the Ocean Blue & Sands Resort. Anyone can tell me if this is a great resort or not?
AaronJB Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 It does get good reviews on tripadvisor. Please use the site's Travelocity link to start your purchases and searches. :)
