Engin Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 I'm very new to priceline and I barely know about NYIt is a 3 nites vacation with my fiance and first visit to NY We want to see as much places as possible in this short trip, such as Liberty Island, Broadway show, Empire State, Brooklyn etc.Our budget is about 200 dolars for night including taxes and we want to stay in a hotel above 3.5 ratingI need your help on choosing the district, rating level and the price Thank you in advance
Engin Posted May 19, 2010 Author Report Posted May 19, 2010 Starting from 150 for 4*, i try up to 175 dolars for MTE,MTW,CPS,TS and ESB. Still no successI cant go up much further from these prices. What price do you think can win for a 4* in one of these areasShould i also try 3.5* too.
thereuare Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! As your seeing Fall is an expensive time in NYC, and at the moment i'm guessing a 4* hotel in one of the zones above is probably going to run ~$250/nite... a 3.5* in the city (i'd use different zones than the above) ~$200. Of course i would star lower and work your way up, but this is my guess as to what type or rates you're currently looking up against.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Thanks for clicking the requested PRICELINE link :)Is your budget a $175 bid? (which comes to a little more than $200/nite after taxes and fees)Jersey City is currently expensive too and for your first NYC trip i would recommend staying in Manhattan if at all possible. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Which airport do you fly into?
