west_ender Posted June 24, 2010 Author Report Posted June 24, 2010 Back from my 4 days stay in Rochester at the Hyatt Regency and was very happy with choice & price !!Got room on the 12th floor, with 2 queen beds, very clean with usual amenitiesOnly complaint was a 42-inch FlatScreen TV which, in my view, was much too large for the room and took up all the space on the dresser.Didn't try the buffet breakfast or restaurant or bar & it didn't look like many people did either.Car-park adjacent $4 per 24 hours (you get the front desk to validate your ticket each time you want to leave)Area is central but very very quiet at night. Good Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant a short walk away open until late with live music after 2200. It was busy the 2 nights I went mid-week and had to wait 30 minutes for a table each time but the atmosphere & choice of beers was great. It is 1 block from the Rochester Public Library which I was visiting for genealogical research, so the hotel location was perfect, and the library staff were superb and most helpful with a huge amount of books, microfilm, etc etc. There is also a tourist information office opposite with again most helpful staff.
AaronJB Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Glad to hear that you were pleased with the result and enjoyed your stay.
