I started out wanting to be in the Residence Inn in Grandville. I'm traveling with my husband and young daughter, so we like the big rooms at Residence Inns (room for a travel crib!), and the full, hot breakfast is great.

I believe the Residence Inn is the only 3* in the Grand Rapids (Grandville) area, so i felt it's a sure-bet.

Here's my bid history for Grandville:

$48 - REJECTED

$50 - REJECTED

$55 - REJECTED

$60 - REJECTED

$65 - REJECTED

$69 - REJECTED

Annnnd that was my limit. The Residence Inn retails for $109/night and they're offering a PRICELINE promo of a $20 Target gift card, which essentially makes it $89/night. I think it's ridiculous that they wouldn't take $69/night. So, lost business for them!!

I checked out the Hyatt Place in nearby Wyoming (we're familiar enough with the area to get around easily), and it looks really nice and new, GREAT reviews, rooms look huge, continental breakfast...

It's the only known 3* in the Grand Rapids (South-Wyoming) area, so again, a good bet.

Immediately added area to include Grandville (which would mean I'd either get this hotel or the Residence Inn I'd been bidding for):

$60 - ACCEPTED - Hyatt Place

The more I look at the Hyatt Place, the more excited I am. It looks like a great hotel, and we'll get to take my daughter swimming since it's an indoor pool!! :)
