snowball Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 My bid for 2 rooms at $55 was accepted for the Four Points Sheraton in Miami Beach. It looks like the going rate for this hotel is around $119 so I think I got a good deal.
ufjoe21 Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Good, can you please list your bidding history or did you snag it on the first bid?
thereuare Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your win with the rest of the board and enabling us to add this propety to our lists! As ufjoe points out, it would be useful to know if this was your first bid in this zone or if you had previous bids rejected (as it will enable future users to know where to start their bids). Thanks for posting and have a great stay. snowball Posted May 1, 2005 Author Report Posted May 1, 2005 Sorry that it took so long for me to reply, but I haven't checked on this thread since I originally posted it. The main reason I posted was so that your hotel list would be updated to include the Four Points Sheraton, so that others would know it was a possibility.I got this hotel for 6/11 - 6/12 and for 6/19-6/20. My initial bid for 6/11 was accepted at $55 - first try. I thought perhaps that my bid was too high, :) so I tried bidding lower (started at $45) and using free re-bid zones for my 6/19 stay, but my bids were not accepted until I reached $55 again. So it seems to me that $55 was the magic number for this hotel, at least in my experience.Hope this helps! :)
thereuare Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 Was the highest bid (if you remember) before your acceptance $50? (as we don't know if you incremented each bid by $1, $5, or some other figure)Thanks. snowball Posted May 2, 2005 Author Report Posted May 2, 2005 Hmmmm I don't remember exactly, since it was a couple of months ago, but I think I went up in $5 increments. So I started at $45, then $50, then was accepted at $55.
