I'm looking for a room in Atlantic City for 5/29-5/31.

Im looking for a 3*-4* hotel, and only want zone 2, "Atlantic City Area." My maximum budget per night is $150.

This is "opening" of prime time season for Atlantic City as well as many other beach areas. Given the holiday weekend, and you're not staying the full holiday weekend, i think this is going to be a tough win within your budget.

If you want to give it a try, as you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay?

Thanks for the reply. The goal is the least expensive 3* or better hotel. Also, we would like to keep it to a total (after taxes and all) of $200 or less a night, so we can bid up to $165 it seems.

At the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

sorry, I have now been told by those accompanying me that we should definitely be willing to spend more money, up to the 165 cap, to shoot for the 4* hotel first. Would you mind providing a bidding strategy for 4* hotels as well?

Not sure, but it sounds as if you want to try for a 4* hotel first, but still keep the $165 as your maximum bid? If so, you have FOUR re-bid zones when bidding 4* in Atlantic City.

Thanks for the help... after a few days of playing around with priceline, I got the Sheraton Atlantic City Hotel for $160 for Sunday night only. Based on the reviews, I think we'll be pretty happy with this.

When looking for Saturday and Sunday wasn't working, we decided we at least wanted to go Sunday, so I tried that and it worked. The prices for Saturday night seem to be a lot higher to begin with. I've tried bidding up to $175 for Saturday night separately, but have not had anything accepted.

Usually Sunday is an inexpensive nite for this area, but the Holiday weekend is making it almost as expensive as a typical weekend nite.
