thereuare
This is "opening" of prime time season for Atlantic City as well as many other beach areas. Given the holiday weekend, and you're not staying the full holiday weekend, i think this is going to be a tough win within your budget. If you want to give it a try, as you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. gothamgator78
Thanks for the reply. The goal is the least expensive 3* or better hotel. Also, we would like to keep it to a total (after taxes and all) of $200 or less a night, so we can bid up to $165 it seems. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
At the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3* Atlantic City...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Atlantic City and re-bid zone2...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $140.If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try once again using the PRICELINE links on the board (and not any links in emails that PRICELINE may send letting you know your eligible to bid again):Select 3* Atlantic City...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Atlantic City and re-bid zone2...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $165Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. gothamgator78
sorry, I have now been told by those accompanying me that we should definitely be willing to spend more money, up to the 165 cap, to shoot for the 4* hotel first. Would you mind providing a bidding strategy for 4* hotels as well? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
...we should definitely be willing to spend more money, up to the 165 cap, to shoot for the 4* hotel first. Not sure, but it sounds as if you want to try for a 4* hotel first, but still keep the $165 as your maximum bid? If so, you have FOUR re-bid zones when bidding 4* in Atlantic City.Select 4* Atlantic City...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Atlantic City and re-bid zon3...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Atlantic City and re-bid zon4...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $165Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. gothamgator78
Thanks for the help... after a few days of playing around with priceline, I got the Sheraton Atlantic City Hotel for $160 for Sunday night only. Based on the reviews, I think we'll be pretty happy with this. When looking for Saturday and Sunday wasn't working, we decided we at least wanted to go Sunday, so I tried that and it worked. The prices for Saturday night seem to be a lot higher to begin with. I've tried bidding up to $175 for Saturday night separately, but have not had anything accepted. again, thanks for the help! thereuare
Congratulations on your success!Usually Sunday is an inexpensive nite for this area, but the Holiday weekend is making it almost as expensive as a typical weekend nite.
