edana Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Actually tried for 5* on North Strip, bid $86, got counter-offer to bid $17 more, mistakenly added non-free zone South Strip and re-bid $94, oops, got re-bid accepted by THEhotel (intead of Venetian or Wynn either of which we would have preferred.... to add insult, THEhotel charges a $15 resort fee/day).
yellowdog Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Thank you for sharing your result with the board!Sorry to see that you checked the wrong zone. It's easy to do.But we hope that you will enjoy your stay anyway. If it feels better can i tell you that Venetian also charge a $15 resort fee. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog.
edana Posted May 17, 2010 Author Report Posted May 17, 2010 Thank you for your kind reply. I forgot (again) to indicate that I did use BB's PRICELINE link. At least I did that right.
AaronJB Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE link. :)
dlister Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 On the bright side if you check out Restaurant.com there is about 9 restaurants at Mandalay bay that offer discounts so you should save some good money on your food bill.I know betterbidding has a link somewhere and Restaurant.com is currently offering 60% off.I hope this helps offset the dissappointment of getting the wrong hotel
edana Posted June 30, 2010 Author Report Posted June 30, 2010 Finally took advantage of what you were telling me about. Used coupon code SUMMER at Restaurant.com for 80% off 'til tomorrow. Got a couple of the restaurants for this stay in Vegas, and got several more for where I'm living and going in CA too! Belated thank you for your suggestion. (You may have created a monster.)
