travelmom Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Would love to identify the following1) Miami (downtown) 4* $127.00 for August 10 to August 13 with the following amenities.Restaurant, Pool, Fitness & Business.2) Miami (South Beach) 3 1/2 * $98.00 for the same dates with these amenities,Boutique, Near Beach, Airport Shuttle, Restaurant, Complimentary Breakfast, High Speed Internet & TennisThanks
thereuare Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Can you double check and confirm that the HOTWIRE hotel you're seeing has a Business icon at the end (and not an Laundry icon)? The South Beach property you describe is a match for the Chesterfield, and the very mixed reviews explain why i often shy away from Boutique properties. travelmom Posted February 20, 2005 Author Report Posted February 20, 2005 I double checked on Hotwire and it is definately a business icon and NOT a laundry icon for the Miami Downtown property. Thanks for your advice on the mixed reviews on the 3 1/2* Boutique hotel
thereuare Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 The 4* as you describe it (with Business icson) is a match for the Hyatt Regency... with a laundry icon instead is most likely the Inter-Continental (which shows up on my search at only $75/nite).If you decide to go with Hotwire please use THIS LINK to begin your purchase. Also, if you're not that particular about 'choosing' your hotel, you may want to try Priceline, as the 3* hotels in the area all typically get good reviews and can be had for a bit less than the above offerings. If you'd like to go that route let us know and we'll suggest a strategy to follow.Let us know whatever you decide to do. travelmom Posted February 23, 2005 Author Report Posted February 23, 2005 Thanks for your suggestion for using Priceline. However, I was able to find a good deal at Wyndam Miami Beach Resort and will most likely book directly with the hotel. Thanks for all your help.
thereuare Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Glad you found something your happy with.... can you tell us the rate so that others who may be looking in this area in the future know what a "good deal" is direct from the hotel. As well, this board is an affiliate of WYNDHAM, please use our link for your purchase. travelmom Posted February 23, 2005 Author Report Posted February 23, 2005 I called the hotel directly and asked for their AAA rate, but it was not available. I then asked them for the Costco member rate and they quoted me a rate of $99.00 per night. Wyndham web site rate is listed at $159.00. I would have preferred to stay in the South Beach area, but Wyndham sounded good and the price was right. I was not able to book this reservation through their web site as the Costco rate is not listed. It is always a good idea to call the hotel directly, sometimes they are able to offer you a better rate than what is listed on their website.
