Priceline Hotel: Manhattan June 9 - June 13

I am looking for a hotel in NYC 3.5* or up from June 9 - June 13.

I am new to the whole bidding system and I have been reading on the forum about prices.

The cheapest on PRICELINE is a PriceBreaker deal at $149 in Midtown west at $149.

Is there any strategy to get a better price? What strategy should I use?

I don't believe the pricebreaker deal is necessarily available for all dates within the range they stipulate, so no guarantees you'll be successful at the $149 rate if you bid that amount.
