Hotwire Hotel: Stratagy for 4* Hollywood Beach Diplomate

Hi,

I am a newbie both to this board and HOTWIRE. I think I did my homework by reading the comments that apply to my search. I want 4* Hollywood Beach for 7/17/10 pre cruise. I am trying for the Westin Diplomate so I want the one with 90% customer reviews. Here is my question: How frequently should I be searching? All I ever get is the 80% Crown and I have tried several times a day. Is this something i should be hunting daily? Multiple times a day? Too early and I need to wait more last minute? Anything else I should be doing? Thanks all. This board rocks !

The only thing you can do is wait and see. It's nothing that says that we will se the Westin for your dates.

And don't only rely on the 90% customer reviews. Crown Plaza might get that also. Or Westins can change. I have seen a 85% hotel in this zone.

I would check pretty often and also alternate your search with 3 adults, 4 adults, 2 adults + 2 kids etc.

HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level in each zone... the hotel with the lowest price is the one which is offered on a given search.

Since some hotels only make their rooms available to HOTWIRE for double occupancy, some charges extra for more than double occupancy while others don't charge for the 3rd/4th person in a room, and some charge for extra adults but not children, changing the occupancy can sometimes change the hotel with the lowest price, thereby changing the hotel offered for that date.
