mmpadp Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 I apologize if this subject is "off-topic" for better bidding, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced receiving sub-par treatment or sub-par roooms because they used priceline. I'm guessing that is a rare occurance since a hotels reputation is on the line.
thereuare Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 It happens... but also happens to guests on 'regular' reservations too. When it happens on a PRICELINE / HOTWIRE reservation it's easy to 'blame' the discounted rate for the reason for the sub-par treatment or room... when often it's a case of the hotel simply not being able to accommodate the request (ie- all non-smoking rooms are occupied, no rooms with a King bed available, etc). This isn't too say that there are some hotels that routinely 'discriminate' against guests who are there on a deeply discounted rate, but fortunately such hotels are in the minority, and most try to accommodate reasonable requests. As well, for most of us, even the worst room in the hotels we receive is worth the price paid.If you need help with an upcoming stay let us know.
