Hello,

So my friend and I are traveling to NYC for 7 nights, from May 19-16. We are willing to stay in any hotel as long at it is at least 3* and in the following areas: TS, MTE, MTW, UES, UWS, CSP, SOHO, Chelsea.

I have been bidding for about 12 days and keep getting rejected. I started bidding on May 3, on TS, MTE, MTW, CPS, and UES areas, for 3.5 and 4*, and went as high as 140 but still got rejected.

So, for the past 3 days I decided to bid on 3*, 3.5*, and 4* in all the areas i stated above that i am willing to stay. Last night i went as high as 165 for a 4* in all those areas - because i had no more bids left so i had to use Brooklyn as my REBID ZONE.

We leave in 5 days and my friend and I are beginning to get worried so we are willing to go as high as 175 a night if we have to for a 3*. I will try this tonight once I can bid again and will update. Do you think I will have a good chance of getting a 3* if I go as high as 175?

HELP! thanks lol

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Unfortunately I don't think $175 is going to be enough for a 3* hotel for these dates... you can, and should try, but rates are very high for this stay. If you need help with a bidding strategy let us know.

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Would you be willing to stay in Jersey City and commute into Manhattan via PATH train? If not for your whole stay then perhaps for part of your trip t save some money, then spend more money on the hotel when in Manhtatan?

Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there.

really?? :)

Do you know how high I would have to bid? How about 190 a night?

I'm not familiar with the New York area outside of Manhattan that's why I would prefer to stay there for my entire stay.

I just checked priceline and they have Hotel Pennsylvania in MTW for 229 a night, so do you think i can bid about 150 a night for 2* and MTW and get it? That pretty much the only 2* in MTW showing as available for those dates. Along with Best Western President Hotel At Times Square and Fairfield Inn NY Manhattan/Times Square, but im guessing those would be part of the TS area?

Okay so I ended up bidding 210 on a 2* and higher.

i ended up splitting my bid and won the Best Western Seaport Inn for 210 a night, for the dates of May 22-26. I'm so disappointing with this win but i guess there's not much to do about it at this point. Its so far from everything but it shouldn't be a problem to get around.

Im currently trying to find a hotel for my first 2 nights (may 19-21) so ill update once i find something.
